List OMGA Sale Information Membership Application Buck Feed Test 2008 |
Hello Members Our show season is about to kick off. We are planning our first show for the summer and fall show season on Saturday June 19 at Cushing. This is our annual show we have at Cushing Ag Barn. We will have the OYMGA youth show followed by an open show like in years past. We will be starting the youth show at 10:00 that morning so all entry cards for that show must be turned in by 9:00 AM. The barn will be open on Friday night until around 10:00 PM. If you have not ever been to this show before, this is one our biggest shows and the pen space is limited and they are taken on a first come first served basis. The youth show will be shown with the rules as in years past so if your not familiar with the OYMGA rules be sure to read them on the website before you come. We will show the open show with the following rules: 1.
Does and bucks still having there milk teeth will shown by weight.
2. If does and bucks don't have milk teeth they will be shown by age (yearlings, 2 yr.old, and aged). 3. They do not have to be registered to show in the open show. 4.
An OMGA board member can mouth an animal to determine the class an
animal is to be entered in if they don't have milk teeth.
I hope everyone is able to attend the Cushing show. It is always good fun and good fellowship. Please read the rules for OYMGA 2010. This year we are having 6 required shows and you must attend 3 of the 6 to be eligible for year end awards. We are attempting to have 3 shows east of I-35 and 3 shows west of I-35 so hopefully this will accomodate everyone a little better. Also we have our first prospect wether and doe futurity sale coming up on June 26 at the Pontotoc County Fairgrounds in Ada. All wethers and does sold at this sale will be eligible for the futurity showback in November. This sale will be an open consignment. You must be an OMGA or OYMGA member to sale goats in this sale. All goats need to be in place by 11:00. We will have a sift and show for sale order at 11:30 and the sale will start at 2:00 PM. We will have the second futurity sale on August 28 at Redlands Community College in El Reno. The goats sold through this sale will also be eligible for the futurity showback in November. This sale will be ran on the same time format. We are planning on having the showback in conjunction with our required show at Enid in November. The date for that will be posted as soon as it is finalized. Please call Jamie at (918)637-0180 if you have any questions about these sales.
